An Orthopedic Perspective
(7 CE Hours)
Ideal for manual therapists whose practice is a physically based western perspective.
Deliver non-brutal (no bruise marks) "deep tissue" without breaking a sweat! This intriguing workshop shows the therapist how to use negative pressure through gliding cup techniques. Using negative pressure serves as a wonderful alternative when positive pressure aggravates the painful area.
Silicon cups will be used as an extension of your hand.
Usage of the suction cups can be incorporated into many modalities and styles of practice such as:
- light lymphatic drainage
- deep tissue massage
- myofascial release
- sports or medical massage
- physical therapy work
- active release techniques
1. Learn how to use a variety of cups (plastic pump cups, pliable silicon cups, glass suction cups, rubber plunger)
2. Integrate the usage of cups into the therapist's work (myofascial release, active release, scar tissue release, even lymphatic drainage)
3. Learn a wide variety of negative pressure cupping techniques including how to vary the pressure from heavy to ultralight.
4. Tips and tricks for smoothly transitioning between hand and cup strokes
