The Solution Is the Sides: Approaching the Body from All Angles Lower Body

Presented by:  David M. Lobenstine, LMT

Your client’s body is stuck in its usual spots. No surprise. But is your work stuck in a rut, too?

Do you need to add a new dimension to your sessions? Then come explore the body in a new way – from new angles!

In this workshop, we will look first at the lower body, and in the process we will learn new ways to get out of the rut that we as therapists can all too easily get stuck in. Our focus here will be to tackle those familiar (but sometimes forgotten) muscles, and those all-too-familiar client complaints, but from unusual angles, and using unusual techniques.

Throughout the workshop, we explore our own body mechanics, and experiment with ways of working that are more efficient.  As we try new things we realize which of our habits have become ossified – we realize the ways that we are stuck in a rut.  By doing so, we simultaneously expand our technique toolbox to address client complaints in new and satisfying ways.

Course Objectives:

The Lower Body from All Angles

  • Provide a new means to visualize the lower body, and to appreciate the importance of these structures in the functioning of the body as a whole.

  • Learn and apply specific techniques to engage these structures from new angles.

  • Add simple tools to enhance awareness of their body mechanics, thus rejuvenating their own practice while enhancing their clients’ satisfaction.
